Jerri Grant is scheduled to speak at the annual Martin Luther King luncheon hosted by the East Cleburne Community Center.
“A friend referred her, and I had the pleasure of seeing her briefly and was really blown away,” said Annie Thompson, event chair. “She’s phenomenal.”
Robertson is the founder of the JGR Group, LLC based in Dallas since 1998. “Just Great Results” is a successful personal and professional development company.
The luncheon’s theme is “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step,” which Thompson said would be a motivational and exquisite message for the residents of Cleburne.
For more than a decade, ECCC has been able to have the free luncheon and guest speakers, Thompson said.
“We like to give back to the community,” she said.
The luncheon begins at 11:45 a.m. Jan. 16 at Booker T. Washington Recreation and Community Center, 100 Mansfield Road in Cleburne.
“What better day?” Thompson asked. “It’s a day that we’re off. We don’t have to take an additional day. I promise there will be great food and desserts too.”
Robertson is a former model and local pageant winner. She studied at Dallas Baptist University, focusing on business management.
She is skilled in the areas of people management, leadership, team building and diversity, and built her portfolio with key positions with IBM, Pitney Bowes and American Airlines.
She believes that if properly coached, people can soar to heights beyond their imagination and Thompson hopes that those who attend the luncheon will gain some of Robertson’s knowledge to pursue their goals.
Robertson received the 2010 Goal Achievement Award for completing more goals in 18 months than 97 percent of people do in a lifetime, according to her biography. She has received awards from Fort Worth Educators for her donations and contributions and from IBM for contributions to their Professional Development Series.
She was featured in several local newspapers, magazines and radio shows for motivational speaking.
